How to ‘stack’ your marketing with momentum

What. A. Week! The #1 hack to maximising your marketing efforts? Momentum. Everyone needs it, even Beyonce. Here’s the timeline:

  1. Friday February 3rd: Beyoncé releases ‘CUFF IT (Remix)’ and the official version of a fan-based remix that has been viral on #TikTok for weeks. An acknowledgement of how the fans are an active part of the Bey experience - one of the best use cases for UGC that TikTok has provided. This is a separate piece of analysis we’ve been working on at #SBMHQ

  2. Sunday February 5th: The #GRAMMYs takes place and Beyoncé breaks records as the most decorated artist of all time at the awards show*

  3. Tuesday February 7th: Tickets to her hotly anticipated World Tour finally go on general sale, with extra dates being release and queues for a single city topping 500,000

Build on the momentum, the social discourse, the eyes on your brand. All too often people look for a single coup or silver bullet and then get disappointed when it ‘doesn’t work’ - even the most overnight viral moments require some sort of leverage

This is the level of execution we should all be aiming for to make the most of every moment, even superstars aren’t exempt. Hats off for a stunning roll out.

*One might argue that noone can guarantee who would win at the GRAMMYs, but even still - with all the pre-awards debate about who should win Album of the Year, discourse around Bey was guaranteed. The historic win just accelerated it.
